Peter and Nicolas took our family of four on a peaceful boat journey across the Venetian lagoon to the islands of Sant Erasmo and Burano as part of the Food and Wine tour. It was truly a unique “off the beaten path” journey that will be a magical memory for the rest of our lives. I appreciated how flexible they were to meet our needs, allowing us the design a trip we will never forget.Pubblicato su Google Andrea SantoroTrustindex verifica che la fonte originale della recensione sia Google. Magnifica esperienza che spero di ripetere al più presto. Staff preparato e gentile. Abbiamo visitato posti unici. Consigliatissimo.

The boat
Tortuga, 1951 – Toppo Chiozzotto
Built in 1951 on the island of Pellestrina by master shipwright Schiavon, Tortuga is a rare example of a Toppo Chiozzotto, the traditional wooden fishing boat of Chioggia, crafted entirely by hand using time-honored techniques. Designed for the shallow, salty waters of the Venetian lagoon, every curve tells a story of maritime heritage and artisanal skill.
Lovingly restored by two young Venetians, Nicola and Pietro, Tortuga sails again with its original spirit and elegance, standing as a living symbol of Venice’s nautical past. Measuring 8 meters in length and 2 meters in width, it accommodates up to 10 passengers, powered by a 20 hp Deutz engine with a cruising speed of around 10 km/h. Featuring partial cover, wooden benches, and USB ports, it’s now available for tours, private events, and slow experiences among the lagoon’s islands—offering not just a ride, but a journey through time.
